The Inspiration Behind My Abstract Color Stories

The Inspiration Behind My Abstract Color Stories

The inspiration behind my abstract color stories comes from the way I build visual language for the Jazzymade brand. Some pieces begin with outside influence, like the research I did while preparing work for the Giants exhibition, and others begin with my own concepts, instincts, or the original ideas that shaped Jazzymade from the start. Whether the spark comes from a collaboration or from my internal creative direction, every color story is developed to support the brand’s identity and the collections I create for it.

Color is often the first decision in my process. I’m drawn to palettes that express confidence, rhythm, and warmth—qualities that define Jazzymade and appear across my collections. Even when a project begins with a prompt, like the turntable concept that originated in my own studio long before the exhibition, the color story is what allows the work to expand into something larger. This is why work generated for a particular exhibition can evolve into a full Jazzymade collection. The ideas don’t end when the project ends; they grow, shift, and open new directions. The pieces not selected for the Giants exhibition became part of a broader creative arc, each one rooted in the same emotional foundation but free to develop its own identity within the Jazzymade lineup.

For Museum Buyers. Strong color stories create artwork that can support multiple themes, seasons, and visitor experiences. The new Jazzymade pieces were shaped with that flexibility in mind, offering expressive work that fits both curated exhibitions and year‑round retail.
