Inspired by my work for “Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys”
When I create new work, I always begin with the story. For the exhibition Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, that story centered on creativity, individuality, and the belief that every person carries something powerful within them.
Where the Collaboration Began
The buyer first connected with one of my turntable‑styled wall clocks and noted its natural link to music — a meaningful thread given the collectors’ backgrounds. That was the starting point, not the full concept.
From there, it became my role to expand the idea.
How I Build Exhibition‑Aligned Work
My process is rooted in research and interpretation. For this exhibition, I explored:
• The emotional tone behind the theme “we are all giants”
• The collectors’ mission to inspire connection and confidence
• How music, rhythm, and everyday beauty could visually support that message
This research guided the evolution of the clocks into pieces that didn’t just reference music — they reflected the exhibition’s deeper intention.
Each clock was shaped to carry the feeling of the show. The result was functional artwork that supported the exhibition narrative while standing on its own as a meaningful object.
Why This Matters for Museum Retail
A clear creative process ensures that the products you offer:
• Align with the exhibition’s themes
• Deepen the visitor experience
• Feel intentional and mission‑driven
• Support the story your museum is telling
This is the foundation of every exhibition‑aligned collection I create.
